Mrs Aisha Buhari Gives Insight Into The Direction of Buhari’s Regime

The wife of the president, Mrs Aisha Mohammed Buhari yesterday in Abuja organized a dinner for Nigerian women.

At the dinner she made a number of pronouncements that gave an insight into the direction the regime will follow.

1. Nobody should give money to any of our aides in return for access to me and my husband. We learnt whether true or false that it happened in the last administration. We shall frown at such a practice

2. President Goodluck Jonathan is a good man. It was the people around him that destroyed his administration. We shall do everything possible to make sure people around us do not destroy our government.

3. We frown at the high rate of divorce in the North. It is causing serious social problems . Something has to be done about it.

4. We frown at the alarming cases of female harassment in higher institutions in Nigeria. It is unacceptable and we shall do something drastic about this.

5. We decry the under representation of women in our legislative arm of government. We had more women in the last regime than we are having now yet we recorded more than 50 percent female voters in the last election. It is unacceptable and we must brace up to ensure that henceforth women are better represented.

6. People around her husband were not going to allow her to campaign for her husband it was Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that insisted she must come out and campaign and it has been a win- win since then
