Buhari Article On Obama's Cabinet(2): PMB Was Absolutely Wrong

Goodmorning All, I woke up this morning to read this thread "Buhari's Article: Buhari Was Right On Obama's Cabinet". It was meant to counter the points raised on my thread where I exposed the lies of Buhari where he alleged that Obama appointed some Cabinet members some months into his administration in his first term http://www.nairaland.com/2465799/buharis-article-misinformation-facts-records. Permit me to quote the words of Muhammadu Buhari, because it will help in my argument.

"When cabinet ministers are appointed in September, it will be some months after I took the oath of office. It is worth noting that Obama himself did not have his full Cabinet in place for several months after first taking office; the United States did not cease to function in the interim." --- (Pres. Pls note the emboldened. I will hereafter analyse each and everyone that the OP of that thread brought up to serve his argument.

1. Gary Locke (2009-2011) - Secretary of Commerce (Nominated Feb 23, 2009):

I always advice people to get their fact right before coming out to counter people. After Obama was elected in November 2008, first nominee for the post of Secretary of Commerce was New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson. However, Richardson had to clear the allegations against him. He withdrew his nomination on the 6th of January 2009 to clear his name. http://www.nbcnews.com/id/28493919/

Obama was to be sworn-in on January 20, 2009 without a Commerce Secretary. On Feb 4, 2009 (13 days after swearing in), he nominated republican Senator Judd Gregg as the new Commerce Secretary-designate. https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2009/02/obam-f04.html

Mr Gary Lock was the third nominee for this position in Obama's first term. He was nominated on Feb 23, 2009. Even befor Garry lock was confirmed, Mr Otto Wolff was acting in that capacity from January 20, 2009.

2. Kathleen Sebelius (2009-2014) - Secretary of Health and Human Services:

Like I said earlier Barak Obama made all his first term Cabinet nominations about a month before his first inauguration. Tom A. Daschle was the first nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services. He was nominated on the December 10, 2008.

Kathleen Sebelius was nominated on Feb 23 same year as a replacement.

3. Sally Jewell (2013-present) - Secretary of the Interior

It is unfortunate that the author of the thread mentioned Sally Jewell who only came in after Obama's second inauguration. The first nominee/occupant of this office was Sen Ken Salazar, who was nominated of December 17, 2008.www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=98347731 

He was sworn-in on January 20, 2009. Same day with Obama.

On January 16, 2013 Salzaar was reported to have tendered his resignation from the cabinet. His resignation was however delayed until March 2013 pending the confirmation of Sally Jewell the new Nominee who was nominated in February. This in fact, was even Obama's second term.

4. Penny Pritzker (2013-present) - Secretary of Commerce: 

It is very unfortunate that the OP even brought people that came in after Obama's second inauguration.

Before Penny Pritzker came to office, Gary Locke (March 2009-Aug 2011), John Bryson (Oct 2011- June 2012) were former occupants of the office.

After Bryson sudden resignation in June 2012 Obama appointed Dr Blank to act the interim because it was an election year.

Penny was nominated on 01 Feb, 2013.

5. Thomas Perez (2013−present) - Secretary of Labor:

Before Thomas Perez came to office, there was Mrs Hilda Solis who occupied the office. Solis was nominated in December 19, 2008 when Obama was President-elect. She was confirmed and Sworn-in on Jan 29, 2009 (9 days after Obama's first inauguration).

Solis however made known her resignation on January 9, 2013 and left on Jan 22.

Perez was nominated as a replacement.

6. Anthony Foxx (2013-present) - Secretary of Transportation:

Finally, the first nominee/occupant of this office was Republican Ray LaHood. He was nominated on December 19, 2008 when Obama was President-elect. He was confirmed on Jan 22, 2009 (2 day after Obama's first inauguration) and was sworn-in Jan 23, 2009 (48hrs after Obama's inauguration) www.nytimes.com/2009/01/22/us/politics/22lahood.html?referrer=

On Jan 29, 2013 he announced that he will step down from the seat when a new nominee is confirmed. Obama nominated Anthony Foxx as replacement. Foxx was confirmed and Sworn-in July 02, 2013 (same day Ray Lahood left office).

I believe I have cleared all reasonable doubt that Buhari was clueless when he made the quoted statement above.

I believe that this article also make nonsense to whatever defence that the Buhari crew had earlier put up. However, I shall avail myself for me when called on for further debate.
