Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, says his administration has spent well over N12billion on security-related issues following the increasing rate of attacks by Boko Haram members in the state. The governor made this known through his media aide, Abdullahi Bego who spoke with the press in Damaturu the state capital yesterday August 18th.
“At a time that we are going through the worst security crisis of our lifetime, a crisis that continues to exert a heavy toll on our finances, the Yobe State Government under His Excellency Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam has continued to keep faith with all its major responsibilities, paying workers their salaries regularly at the end of each month, helping to provide support to the security forces who are working to bring the prevailing Boko Haram insurgency to an end, and pushing on with the delivery of basic services. To date, the Yobe State Government has spent over N12bn on security-related matters.”he said
