University of Ibadan emerges best Uni in Nigeria and 8th in Africa

Ibadan people, una well done o! So proud of you guys! University of Ibadan has been rated the best university in Nigeria and the 8th in Africa, according to a new ranking of 1,447 African universities and higher institutions, using research publications, citations from 2010 to 2014, as well as visibility on the Internet

University of Cape Town is number one in Africa, followed by Cairo University, then the University of Pretoria comes third in the Top 10 Universities in Africa. The rest are 3 more from South Africa, two from Egypt, one from Kenya and one from Nigeria (university of Lagos).

10th Convocation Ceremony of Covenant University

The 10th Convocation Ceremony of Covenant University comes up from the 24th – 28th of June 2015. As part of the programmes to mark this great event, Covenant University shall be hosting an Industry Partnership Luncheon on the 25th of June 2015 in a bid to proffer lasting solutions to the challenges of Quality Education and Nation Building. 

Covenant University Graduate Invents NEPA-less Iron

Ayokunle Adeniran, who is a graduate of Mechanical Engineering from Covenant University, has invented a “nepaless” iron; a pressing iron that does not run on electricity. Rather, this gadget utilizes cooking (butane) gas; cartridges which will retail for about N120 per canister.

 There are 6 canisters per cartridge; one cartridge is claimed to last for about 2 weeks worth of daily ironing, or 40 pieces of clothing.
