Oshiomhole to Okonjo-Iweala: I await your lawyer’s letter; says she's complicit in arms deal


Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole has replied former Finance Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who threatened to sue him for linking her to the $2.1 billion arms deal scandal. Oshiomole had in an interview with Leadership, called for the prosecution of the former Minister for allowing such huge amounts of money to be looted under her watch. Oshiomole's reaction to Okonjo-Iweala's threat to sue is contained in a statement released by his spokesperson Kassim Afegbua yesterday Dec. 3rd..

Lagos female sergeant sells baby brought to police station


A female sergeant, Obotie Adesuwa, is currently in the cell of the X-Squad Section of the Lagos State Police Command, after she allegedly sold a one week-old baby boy who had been brought with his mother to the police station.
It was learnt that the sergeant who is from Edo State, is attached to the Akinpelu Police Division, where the baby boy and her mother, Toyin, who is said to be mentally unstable, had been brought to by a Good Samaritan.
It was learnt that the Good Samaritan, who was taking care of the Toyin had brought her and her baby to the station after Toyin was delivered of the baby in a psychiatric hospital.

They were reportedly brought to the police in the last week of September, Adesuwa, who was on duty, had received the baby but failed to document the incident.
However, on Monday, November 9, when Toyin showed up at the station to ask for her baby, the sergeant pretended that she didn't know her.

Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole has fired four of his Commissioners in the State Executive Council. A statement by the governor's Special Adviser, Media and Public Affairs, Prince Kassim Afegbua, says the termination of appointments is in line with the governor's commitment to strengthen the system towards optimal performance. Oshiomole defends Buhari's appointments


Following the public outcry over president Buhari's appointments made recently, the governor of Edo state Adams Oshiomole, has released a statement defending the appointments of President Buhari.

In the statement signed by his chief Press secretary, Peter Okhiria, Oshiomole said the appointments made so far have been based on merits. According to him, the time has come for Nigeria to use unusual methods to solve her unusual problems. The statement in part reads;

FG appoints KPMG, PWC to audit NNPC, other revenue generating agencies


The Federal Government has appointed international audit firms, KPMG and PriceWaterhouse Cooper, to conduct comprehensive audit of the accounts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and other revenue generating agencies from 2012 to 2015.

Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole announced this after the second meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC) in Abuja today August 13th.

“The probe will now cover value for expense as the affected agencies will be made to account for things expended on at their correct value. This is about making Nigeria work for the benefit of other Nigerians and we have to bear in mind that governments are not run on the basis of collection of crude oil but government regardless of colour or political affiliation is run on race and so if you have tax generating agencies that are not remitting taxes government cannot run like that" he told state house correspondents

Army parades 2 cyber fraudsters impersonating military officers on social media


The Nigerian Army paraded two alleged fraudsters Osakpolor Agustín and Felixstowe Osarumwense Osaga, who they say specialized in impersonating military officers on social media to defraud members of the public. They were arrested following a tip off at Ekpoma in Edo state on Aug 5th.

The syndicate specialized in dispossessing members of the public of their money under the guise of facilitating their recruitment into the Nigerian army. They are currently in detention and will appear in court soon.

A minister in GEJ's govt stole $6billion - Gov. Oshiomole alleges


Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomole has alleged that a minister that served in former president Jonathan's administration stole a whooping $6billion. Governor Oshiomole made the allegation while speaking to state house correspondents after a meeting with President Buhari today.

He said American officials made the alleged fraud known to the Buhari led delegation during the state visit to the US last week.

"PDP destroyed the country. I mean from the lips of American officials; senior officials of the state department. They said one minister under PDP cornered as much as $6billion, and the man said even by Washington standard that is earth-quaking,” he said.
Governor Oshiomole said if not that Nigerians are patient people, anybody who carried the PDP badge would have been stoned. He said PDP members ought to feel very unsafe ...
"We are a very patient people. If we were not a patient people, anybody wearing the tag of PDP ought to feel very unsafe because you are all victims- all of us here,” he said.

Oshiomole replies Okonjo-Iweala, says 'I don't want to say she knows how to lie with statistics'



Edo state Governor Adams Oshiomhole has replied former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala who yesterday denied allegations he made that she she spent N2.1 billion from the Excess Crude Account without authorization from members of the National Economic Council.

Speaking on Channels TV this morning, Governor Oshiomole said;
"I think with all due respect to former Minister Okonjo Iweala, she knows how to play around, I don't want to say lie with statistics. I have made this point that she keeps opening only parts of the pages and not the entire book. The logic of transparency is that the honorable minister must publish in full what is accruing to the federation account month to month and what is distributed to who?

Woman Throws Her 3-day-old Baby Into Dustbin In Edo


A 25-year old woman identified as Joy Tunde was on Tuesday nabbed after she confessed to have dumped her three days old baby to an uncompleted building. She reportedly threw the baby over a fence into the uncompleted residential building at Obazuaye Street, off Osakpamwan Street, Evbareke Quarters, Egor local government area of Edo State.

The act was said to have been committed at about 2am on Saturday, but residents in the area discovered the baby three days later.
