I woke up about 5:30am on 7th
of June, 2016, had my morning devotion and went about getting ready for the
day’s work. I was really not expecting any surprises like the one I got when I took
a quick glance at my phone on my way out for any messages and news updates. The
first news that popped up at me was a rude shock, Stephen Keshi is dead! At
first, I thought it was one of those fake news so I decided to confirm the authenticity
of the news from Channels news website, and loo and behold the news was there
confirming Stephen Keshi’s death. Sudden sadness welled up within me as I decided
to right there on the spot observe my one minute silence in honour of the
departed hero.

Rio2016: Don't Blame me If Nigeria Fails to Qualify- Samson Siasia

Chief Coach of Nigeria’s U-23 national team, Samson Siasia says that he should not be blamed if Nigeria fails to qualify for the Rio Olympics next month because his team has been treated like “orphans”. According to him, the team has not been paid their allowances in the last 9 months and they have not been provided with training kits as well.
“Nigerians should know that we are not well prepared (for the championship) and I should not be held responsible for whatever happens. We are orphans. We have not been paid our bonuses, while the Super Eagles were paid full bonuses even when they drew in Burkina Faso. We have been without allowances for the past nine months.

Think of It Samson Siasia Celebrated His 30th Wedding Anniversary & He's Just 47? Hmm!

Coach of Nigeria's under 23 football team and former Super Eagles captain, Samson Siasia recently celebrated his 30th wedding anniversary with wife, Eunice. They were treated to a surprise party by the U23 football players recently. I was surprised that he'd been married for that long and went on his wikipedia to check his age and it says 47. 47 and married for 30 years? Aww...lol. Happy wedding anniversary to them.
