Aisha Buhari blasts Fayose over alleged role in Halliburton scandal

Aisha Buhari, the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has rebuked the governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, over allegation that she was involved in the Halliburton scandal.

Mr Tope-Aluko, A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State is insisting that the Ekiti State governorship election was rigged, tendering evidences on how some areas were blocked in the state during the election.

On Politics Today on Sunday, Mr Tope Aluko gave a breakdown of how the election was rigged in favour of the PDP governorship candidate, now Governor, Ayodele Fayose.

Explaining a process he alleged was used in rigging the election, he said: “Before the Primaries, we had this believe that because Jonathan was coming out for second term and because we are going to be the first election in the south-west, at a meeting, we told him (former President Goodluck Jonathan) that north-east, north-west and north-central may not be too sure for him because the Hausas are clamouring for presidency and that you now have south-east and south-south, you must manage the south-west”.

Fayose asks Ekiti senators to support Fayemi's ministerial nomination

Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has asked Ekiti state lawmakers to ensure his predecessor and ministerial nominee, Kayode Fayemi have a hitch free screening exercise at the floor of the senate come 13th October 2015 when screening of the country's ministerial nominees will commence. Fayose made the call while speaking with student leaders of Ekiti origin at the conference hall of the governor's office yesterday October 7th.

 "Ekiti is my number one priority, I called all the house of reps and senators that went to Abuja from here, some people petitioned the national assembly, stating how Fayemi sunk Ekiti into heavy debt, I have told the members not to do that.

Gov. Fayose pardons Ekiti Civil Servants caught for lateness to work

  

Remember the pics of Ekiti state workers begging on their knees that went viral? Well, Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has pardoned the 31 civil servants who resumed late to work that day. According to Punch, the governor announced this at a meeting with public servants in Ado Ekiti 

“I am begging workers to get to work on time. If we are paying salaries on time, then civil servants must also reciprocate by coming to work on time. Also, people must be ready to pay rates, taxes and levies. If civil servants are paying taxes, others should pay as well. Our IGR must improve.” he said at the meeting today...

Other than organizing road shows, buying Tomato & pepper, Fayose has achieved nothing in 10months - APC

Ekiti state chapter of APC says asides conducting road shows and buying pepper and tomatoes in open markets to pose as a friend of the poor, the state governor, Ayo Fayose has not achieved anything or concluded any project to his credit since assuming office 10 months.

The state party stated this in a statement released by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun yesterday August 23rd. The party also accused Fayose of being a pathological liar

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has appealed to members of the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria against allowing themselves to be used by kidnappers to perpetrate evil.

Speaking on Thursday during the swearing-in of the new State Executive of the union in Ado Ekiti, the governor, who said he was once a ‘danfo driver’ appealed to the drivers to be orderly and not to be desperate.

He said, “Please, I want to commend you for contributing immensely to the development of the state’s economy, but don’t allow yourselves to be used by evil doers. You can see that some kidnappers were paraded recently. Information from them revealed that they have been using some of your members.

“I was once a driver like you. I used the money I got from driving to sponsor myself for HND at Ibadan Polytechnic, but I did not get desperate. All I’m saying is that being a driver you can make it

in life. You will become what you want to become in life with hard work. Don’t join evil gang for you to get rich overnight, try and rise through the ladder like we did.”

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has warned the Federal Government of the consequences of the detained Chief Security Officer (CSO) to former President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, Mr Gordon Obuah, dying in detention. Obua, who was arrested and detained by men of the State Security Service (SSS) in Abuja since the night of July 16 reportedly collapsed and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital yesterday. 

Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said it was unlawful for the CSO to have been dumped in detention since July 16 without any court order, warning that; 'Obua must not be allowed to die in detention.”

“We read in the newspapers that Obua was denied access to his doctor, lawyer and family members – and his lawyer claimed on Sunday that Obua was also denied his medications for hypertension and diabetes.

Obasanjo should let Jonathan be – Ayo Fayose

Mr Ayodele Fayose has urged former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to stop attacking the immediate past President, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, saying; “Dr Goodluck Jonathan is no longer the president of Nigeria, he should be allowed to live a private life devoid of mudslinging from elder statesmen like Chief Obasanjo.”

 Governor Fayose said he was miffed that former President Obasanjo could choose the 11th Convocation Lecture of Benson Idahosa University (BIU) Benin, Edo State to say that “performance of Jonathan while in office will hunt the people of the South-South region for a long time to come.”

In a statement issued in Ado-Ekiti on Monday by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor said the people of the South South had already demonstrated their approval of Jonathan’s performance while in office by voting overwhelmingly for him on March 28 despite the gang-up orchestrated by Chief Obasanjo and his allies.

“Most importantly, Jonathan’s performance as a democrat has been widely acknowledged locally and internationally, particularly by President Mohammadu Buhari, who on many occasions acknowledged the role he (Jonathan) played in midwifing a peaceful and successful transition programme, thereby averting the feared crisis in the country.

Fayose met with APC Lawmakers.

The 19 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State House of Assembly on Monday, May 25, 2015 finally held a fence-mending meeting with Governor Ayo Fayose in order to restore peace in the state.

The meeting, which was called by Governor Fayose was held in Akure, the Ondo State capital and was also attended by both the Ekiti State Director of Department of State Service and Commissioner of Police.

Details of the meeting was made known by Wole Olujobi, the Special Adviser on Media to the ousted Speaker of the House Adewale Omirin via a statement made available to The Trent.

The statement read in parts: “While the governor emphasized before the lawmakers the offer of their salaries and other entitlements, the lawmakers insisted on the return to the status quo as at November 11, 2014.

“That means restoring all the principal officers to their positions and all aides of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, including those of other principal officers should be restored to their positions.

“The lawmakers made it clear they were ready to return to their jobs and the governor should provide atmosphere for that possibility. They asked the governor to clear the House of Assembly of thugs and create conditions that would make them do their jobs without any security threats. They insisted that restoring the security aides of the principal officers and opening the Assembly for resumption of their legal duties should be the starting point for the restoration of peace.

“We want to make it clear that the resolution of the crisis in the House of Assembly lies with the governor in acceding to our request,” the statement concluded.
