Nigerian woman who falsely accused 2 men of rape sentensed to 8 months

  

23 year old Comfort Yinusa, who falsely accused two men of rape in December 2013, has been sentenced to 8 months in prison (Read previous story here). Ms Yinusa was sentenced to prison on June 19th for making a false report, wasting more than 100 hours of police time and wasting about £3,000 of police funds. Plus all the distressed caused to the men she accused of rape, who spent hours in police custody and spent six weeks on bail.

The young woman, who had a history of abusing drugs and alcohol, pleaded for mercy from the judge but he told told her "You have let down genuine rape victims. Your actions have led to two innocent men being put through the humiliation of arrest and all the procedures that followed." he said before sentencing her.

A 60 year old rapist and paedophile has admitted to raping his two step-daughters and deliberately infecting them with HIV. He originally denied the accusations but is now awaiting sentence after changing his plea to guilty on the second day of his trial this week. He has since developed full-blown AIDS.

One of the girls was about 11 when she contracted the potentially deadly virus. Her sister was 14.

Now one of the girls, now 22, tells how she only found she had been infected during a  routine antenatal blood test when she got pregnant by her boyfriend. She said that moment of happiness turned to devastation when she found out. She knew immediately she had to try to save her younger sister, still only 12, from the same fate.

I Felt Humiliated, Says Girl Defiled By Father (Picture)

A 14-year-old girl (name withheld) said she felt bad and humiliated after she was defiled twice by her father. The culprit, Adeboye Waheed, 48, has been arrested by policemen attached to Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos. The suspect, who was paraded before journalists yesterday, blamed the act on strange influence which befell him. The victim lives with his father, step mother and four siblings on Adama Araro Street in Ikorodu area of Lagos.

Girl Gang-Raped By Her Boyfriend and 3 Others In Ondo State

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested four students of the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, for allegedly gang-raping a female student of the institution.

According to the Vanguard, the victim is a girlfriend of one of the suspects. She was raped at a residence in Oka area of the town until she became unconscious.

Reports had it that the victim who resides outside the campus, was invited by her girlfriend and together they went to visit another friend. On getting to the residence the said friends, others reportedly pounced on her and took turns raping her.The suspects, according to a police source, are students of the Department of Business Education in the institution.

It was gathered that the suspects, who have made confessional statements, were picked up after the report was lodged at the police station in Ondo town

The victim was said to have lost consciousness on her return home and was taken to the hospital where she was placed on admission due to her bleeding profusely
