Four Agbara Bank Robbers Arrested, Admit Stealing N28m


Four suspected members of the armed robbery gang which unleashed terror on commercial banks in the Agbara area of Ogun State last Thursday have confessed to carting away N28m during the operation.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspected gang members were arrested by the police in the Sapele area of Delta State.

Their correspondent learnt from a reliable police source that the suspects confessed in their statements that they were also responsible for the killings of seven operatives of the Department of 
State Service on September 16, 2015.

It was learnt that the suspects, who were picked up by the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, engaged the policemen in a shootout during which another policeman was killed.

Public office holders from 1999 should be probed-Osoba


At the exhibition of books written by Nigeria’s Poet, and public commentator, Odia Ofeimun, tagged, Special 40-Plus Book Exhibition that took place yesterday at the Agip Recital Hall of The Muson Centre, Lagos, former governor of Ogun State, Chief Segun Osoba, said that past public office holders since the transfer of power to civilian government in 1999 should all be probed.

He said:
“Those who have held public offices in the civilian era should all come back and account for their stewardship, if you really want everybody to be accountable, I’m suggesting that the president should make all of us come back and account for whatever we did when we were in offices since 1999, since the return of civilian government. There should be thorough examinations of our actions, 2003 was not under Jonathan, so the probe must begin from 1999 because once you pull the root, the root will pull all the grass around.

Police arrest armed robbers who raped patients and nurses at a hospital in Ogun


The Ogun state police command have arrested two robbers identified as Demola David and Dare Oladunjoy suspected to have raped patients and some nurses after robbing them at the Amazing Grace Hospital, an Ijebu – Ode based hospital recently.

The Ogun state police command spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement said the suspects were arrested at Ijebu – Ode following a tip-off.

Police arrest nurse for stealing newborn baby

The men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a nurse, Adebola Titilayo, who owns a private hospital in Arogun Village, in the Ewekoro Local Government Area, for allegedly stealing a new born baby.
The nurse allegedly took the baby was born and reportedly told the mother that she had a stillbirth.

This incident happened on June 13, 2015, but policemen from the Ewekoro division arrested the suspect on Friday.
It was gathered that the real mother of the baby got information that her baby did not die, but was with the nurse.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the arrest of the nurse, added that neighbours of the nurse and the people in the community, who suddenly saw her with a baby without any pregnancy, became suspicious of her.

Ogun Police Issue Shoot-At-Sight Order Against Ritualists, Human Parts Dealers


Police in Ogun state will henceforth shoot armed cultists and “ritualists” at sight, the state command announced Thursday.

The commissioner of police, Abdulmajid Ali, gave the order shortly after parading 23 suspected criminals at the State Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, saying that the command will not tolerate ‎the rising cases of cultism and ritual killings.

He said the shoot-at-sight order will not amount to extra-judicial killing because the intention of armed criminals is either to kill or maim.

Mr. Alli said police would soon raid various campuses to apprehend suspected cult members, adding that the command had identified their abode and would get rid of them at all cost.

Cultist apprehended for slitting man's throat in Lagos


A suspected cultist, Biodun Olayide pictured above has been arrested alongside some members of his cult group for allegedly killing one Meshack Ekpeyong, at Ago-Owu street in Bariga on July 25th.

According to Vanguard, Meshack was murdered while staying with a friend at Ago-Owu in Bariga, Lagos state. Narrating what happened, Kubirat said

"At about 8pm on July 25, 2015, I received a call from a man who identified himself as Lekan Olusho, that my husband has been killed and that I should go and pick his corpse. That was simply how I received the news of the death of my husband. I don’t know anybody called Lekan Olusho. I don’t even know the particular house in Ago-Owu area 
where he was staying with his friend.

Iyaloja Of Ijebu Ode Assassinated


The Iyaloja-General of Ijebuland, Alhaja Sadia Elewuju has been assassinated by unknown gunmen at her residence on Wednesday in Ijebu Ode, ogun state, Southwest, Nigeria.

The 82-year old was besieged by six men who stormed her residence, a bungalow at about 3:00 pm yesterday.

The gunmen macheted their victim, cutting her recklessly. She reportedly died on her way to the hospital.

According to a source in Ijebu Ode, the outspoken Iyaloja was a very influential person who stood her ground on any matter. “She is always very vocal and fierce in her position on any matter. She has championed many causes for women especially the market women.

GOD'S WRATH: Bishop Oyedepo Curses Kidnappers & Their Sponsors


Following the kidnapping of a Winners Chapel Pastor in Calabar, Pastor Oyedepo of Living Faith Church Worldwide yesterday cursed all kidnappers in the country and their sponsors.

It was gathered that a Winners Chapel Pastor in Calabar, Cross River state was kidnapped on the 13th of June, 2015 and the kidnappers later contacted the church demanding for N60m ransom. Oyedepo however asked that he should be put online to talk to the kidnappers. When they eventually put him online, he asked if they knew whom they were talking to and they said yes, he then told them that they shall be cursed and whoever has sent them too shall be cursed. Frightened about the negative pronouncement, the kidnappers quickly released the Pastor without any ransom.

Still angry over the incident, Oyedepo spoke openly yesterday during the third service at Faith 
Tabernacle, Ota in Ogun State, saying, “As long as I am here in Christ, your endeavours in this country are cursed.” He then added: “For all of you who continually bring sorrow to families, I curse you and your sponsors,” the man of God said.

The visit of stern looking policemen in three vans to Odubotu compound, located in Okesopen area of Ijebu-Igbo,Ogun state, sent fear down the spine of members of the sleepy community. The armed men reportedly jumped out of the vehicles and positioned themselves strategically around the building.

Mother Arrested For Stabbing 2 Year Old Son To Death In Ogun (PHOTO)


A 26-year-old frustrated mother, Funmilayo Tijani has been arrested by the Ogun state police command for allegedly stabbing her two-year-old son, Emmanuel, to death at her residence on Ogunso Street, Orelope Estate, in the Egan, Sango Ota area of the state on May 27th.

According to a report by Punch, Funmi, who is separated from her son's father and lives with her father, was arrested after Neighbors raised an alarm after she was found with a blood stained knife. Her child was later found dead with stab wounds. Mother and late child pictured above

Kashamu Withdraws N20bn Libel Suit Against Obasanjo

Ogun-East senator in the National Assembly, Buruji Kashamu, has withdrawn a N20.1bn libel suit he instituted against former President Olusegun Obasanjo before a Federal Capital Territory court in Abuja.


It was learnt that the presiding judge, Justice Valentine Ashi, struck out the suit on May 26, 2015, following the notice of discontinuance of the suit filed by the plaintiff.

Kashamu, a Peoples Democratic Party chief in Ogun State, was said to have anchored his decision to withdraw the suit on “an ongoing settlement talks” between him and Obasanjo.
