Photos: Anglican Bishops, principal, parents laud Governor Ambode over rescued school girls


Anglican Archbishop of Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos Mainland Diocese, Most Rev. Adebayo Dada Akinde has commended the administration of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, saying the prompt, positive and practical response of the government contributed largely to the success story of the safe rescue of the three kidnapped female students of Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary, Ikorodu.

Akinde who led other bishops of the Anglican Church, Principal of the school, Ven. Olaoluwa Adeyemi and parents of the three rescued female students on a “thank you” courtesy visit to the Governor at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja, on Monday, March 7, said the success story of the rescue of the girls cannot be complete without the laudable efforts of the Lagos State Government.

How we kidnapped Lagos school girls - Suspects


The prime suspect in the abduction of three school girls in Lagos, Emmanuel Arigidi has revealed that twelve people were involved in the operation.

Speaking to journalists on Sunday after they were arrested and the girls recused, Arigidi said the operation was planned at Majidun area of Ikorodu.

“We went to Maya bridge to enter Canoe and went to the school around 8pm. After we gained entrance into the school, we took away three girls and we took them to our hideout,” he stated.

” But along the line, we had disagreement between ourselves and I was actually the one that started it. I told other members of the gang that what we have done is not good and that I don’t like it.

No ransom paid to free abducted Lagos school girls – Police


The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has said that no ransom was paid to secure the release of the three kidnapped girls of Babington Macaulay Junior Seminary, (BMJS), Agunfoye-Lugbusi, Ikorodu.

At a crowded press conference at the State House, Ikeja, Lagos on Sunday, Owoseni said the children were rescued using the application of modern technology and that no ransom of any kind was collected by the kidnappers. Lagos CP, Fatai Owoseni and Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State.

The commissioner wanted the public not to encourage kidnappers to demand ransom as any ransom paid would encourage others to go into the unholy business. He said three suspects, including the prime suspect, Emmanuel Arigidi, were arrested, adding that the girls were in stable condition.

Four Agbara Bank Robbers Arrested, Admit Stealing N28m


Four suspected members of the armed robbery gang which unleashed terror on commercial banks in the Agbara area of Ogun State last Thursday have confessed to carting away N28m during the operation.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the suspected gang members were arrested by the police in the Sapele area of Delta State.

Their correspondent learnt from a reliable police source that the suspects confessed in their statements that they were also responsible for the killings of seven operatives of the Department of 
State Service on September 16, 2015.

It was learnt that the suspects, who were picked up by the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, engaged the policemen in a shootout during which another policeman was killed.

The Ikorodu BRT Extension was Launched today by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode alongside Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesole (Osun state governor), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (APC National Leader), Dr. Dayo Mobereola (Honorable Commissioner of Transportation in Lagos State)  


The project included widening of the road with two additional lanes and the placing of BRT lanes in the middle of the road. Over 400,000 passengers would be carried daily by 434 high capacity air-conditioned buses that have been prepared to run the corridor from Ikorodu – CMS via Mile 12.

According to LAMATA, the project is a two-in-one project, which includes the widening of the 13.5km road from four lanes to six lanes and the provision of BRT infrastructure that would support the operation.

Interesting Details Of How The Ikorodu Bank Robbers Were Arrested (Must Read)


Four members of the robbery gang, which unleashed terror on two commercial banks in the Ipakodo, Ikorodu area of Lagos two weeks ago, have been arrested by the police.

Our correspondent learnt that the suspected robbers were arrested from Okitipupa, Ondo State, and Ikorodu, Lagos State, while three Sport Utility Vehicles allegedly bought from the proceeds of the robbery were recovered.

The suspects’ names were given as Monday Akpan, Bright Agbojule, the third identified simply as Jafaru, and one Baba Ibeji.

On Wednesday, June 24, the gang, which was reportedly led by a woman, had stormed the Ebute-Ipakodo branches of the First Bank and Zenith Bank at about 8.30am, and carted away millions of 
naira.

Photos from the bank robbery in Ikorodu this morning...


Here are some photos from the robbery incident that occurred at the Ogolonto area of Ikorodu this morning. The armed robbers reportedly trailed a bullion van to one of the banks, attacked the bank, moved over to the next bank, robbed them and then burnt the vehicle that they used for the robbery. They left the scene using a speedboat that ferried towards Iyana Oworo.

2nd Lekki-Epe Expressway Declares Toll-Free By Gov. Ambode


Lagos state governor Akinwunmi Ambode says residents of the state who live in the Lekki axis will no longer pay tolls at the second toll point on the Lekki- Epe Expressway. The governor made this remark at an interactive session with journalists at the Banquet Hall of the Lagos House, Ikeja.

The governor, in the statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna, said his concern was ensuring the completion of the road.
