I Have No Problems With Tinubu + He Single Handedly Defeated PDP - Tunde Bakare

Oh dear, Pastor Tunde Bakare has denied having any issues with APC Chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and says, those who say he usually attacks Tinubu do not know what they are saying, because he praises him instead. According to the G.O, Tinubu is a good politician who he respects and he is someone who single handedly defeated PDP. And guess what? We believe him because men of God do not lie. Here’s what he told The News… As usual he answered the question brilliantly!

Q: When we look at the campaign of PMB, we saw Asiwaju Tinubu as his backbone, he played a leading role in the emergence of Buhari as President. Recently in the church, I heard I wasn’t there, that you attacked Jonathan and Tinubu and when I look at your comment on Tinubu, I see that you always attack him, I want to ask, why?

Ministerial list: Tinubu, others under security watch

Security agencies have launched a surveillance ring around a leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and others, including some members of the National Assembly, over an alleged plot against President Muhammadu Buhari.

The plot, which presidency sources said is not unconnected to the decision of President Buhari to dump several nominees submitted by some party leaders and political godfathers for ministerial appointments, has led to a move to mend fences between the two major contending forces in the Senate.

Intelligence reports had revealed that some state governors, party leaders and political godfathers, whose nominees were dumped by the President for his preferred candidates, have begun to “unleash their goons in a well coordinated media campaigns and groups’ protests against Mr President’s choice of ministerial nominees”

PDP urges Buhari to probe Tinubu, Amaechi

The PDP has called on President Buhari to order a probe on the tenure of some APC government officials, particularly those of Bola Tinubu and Rotimi Amaechi. While speaking at a meeting with some PDP Senators at the party's national secretariat in Abuja yesterday August 6th, the acting National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, said the EFCC has arrested more of PDP government officials in recent times and wondered why APC governors are in anyway clean of corruption.

"Mr President should intervene, that so far, statistics shows clearly that the EFCC have only arrested members of our party, those who have served in government before. But there are APC governors, members of the APC who have served in various governments, they have been left alone. We believe that a government serious on anti-corruption crusade, it cannot be one-sided, it cannot be selective; it should be holistic. Therefore, let’s use this medium to ask that members of the APC who were governors before, are they clean? Are they giving them clean bill of health?” he said

Obasanjo very cunning, Tinubu very clever - Alamieyeseigha

In an interview with Vanguard, former Bayelsa state governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, said former President Olusegun Obasanjo is a cunning man and that former Lagos state governor, Bola Tinubu was very clever not to have fallen for Obasanjo's actions. Alamieyeseigha said this while responding to a question on whether the recent defections of PDP members to APC will affect the party in the state's governorship election which will hold on December 5th.

"Again, I think our people need to be educated, I can tell you that I was one of them in 2003 that formed Action Congress. At that time, it was becoming clear that President Olusegun Obasanjo, was going to chase most of us out of PDP, so we came together. About 18 of us. We said let us register a party and keep it in case President Obasanjo pushed us out of the party. We can have a platform to actualize our dream.

Also at that time, Obasanjo had cajoled the Southwest governors out of their seats. He deceived them. Bola Tinubu was very clever, he foresaw what Obasanjo was trying to do, so he was the only one that survived because the agreement was that all the Southwest governors should all support him so that he will return them as governors for second term. Obasanjo’s election came first and he deceived them. Obasanjo himself, very cunning, formed Accord Party. When you hear of Accord, it’s Obasanjo’s party"he said

After previous failures, I was scared of contesting the 2015 election - Buhari

President Buhari says he was scared of contesting in the 2015 presidential election after his failures in past elections. He said this while addressing APC leaders during the breaking of the Ramadan fast at the presidential villa yesterday July 14th

"No matter the level you are, drop your influence so that we can help achieve the manifesto – security, economy, employment and corruption- because if we don’t kill corruption, corruption will kill Nigeria. We have to ensure that people we bring forward are those that will move the society forward.

I always like to go down the memory lane to show how lucky we are as a political group. At no stage was the decision taken by chance, it was all deliberate. The leaders of the parties felt the only way to wrest power from the PDP was for us to come together. I, in particular, was scared after previous failures of the elections of 2003, 2007 and 2011. We dissolved our various parties to form APC, then we applied to INEC, for once I was grateful to INEC. We had gone with nine people to INEC to apply and INEC advised us that we needed at least 25 people to form a political party. We were able to go back and raised 35 members across the country and then successfully registered the party. INEC then informed the federal government that we have met the requirements hence we cannot be denied registration. Many doubting Thomases said merger had never succeeded in Nigeria but here we are. I went into this long explanation so that you will appreciate how far we have come and for a society as ours, if we respect the constitution, then all the greed and problems will be a thing of the fast.”he said

Awori indigenes storm Tinubu’s residence in protest

Some indigenes of Awori  have stormed the Lagos residence of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, to protest the marginalisation of their people in the appointment of public officials.

The protesters said none of the Awori indigenes from their communities had been appointed into public office in the last 16 years despite their support for the Lagos State Government and Tinubu.
The group, on Sunday, urged Tinubu and the APC-led government in the state to address their complaint.

One of the leaders of the Awori, Chief Lateef Balogun, said,
“I am the Ashipa of Agboyi. We have been supporting Asiwaju Tinubu since he was elected as the Lagos State governor on the platform of the defunct Alliance for Democracy. We have always done our best to ensure that his party wins elections in the state, but what we get in return is marginalisation.

Bola Tinubu says he has not placed any demand on Pres. Buhari

National leader of APC, Bola Tinubu says contrary to popular opinion, he has not placed any demand on President Buhari since he assumed office. Tinubu said this while speaking to state house correspondents after breaking the Ramadan fast with President Buhari at the state house this evening

"I have no demands. If you understand what party politics and leadership is all about, it is about loyalty and commitment to the values which the leadership believes in. I believe in what the president believes in, I respect him and I stand firmly loyal to his cause. So you can go to any length of speculation that you might want, I have not responded to all of that because I understand the president and the president understands me clearly.” he said

He also spoke on the crisis rocking the National Assembly. He said he is backing what President Buhari has said on the matter

Buhari reportedly moves to pacify Tinubu - Ex-Governor to get more Ministerial nominees

This is according to a report by Tribune. They claim that president Buhari is considering giving former Lagos State governor Bola Tinubu more ministerial slots as a way of pacifying the national leader of the APC who is said to be very angry about the goings on in the party...especially the national Assembly crisis.

"Sources close to the APC confirmed to the Nigerian Tribune that the presidency had discovered lately that Tinubu was angry and had been putting some measures in place to pacify the national leader of APC.

Tinubu’s camp was said to have been angered by Buhari’s failure to back its strategies that would have ensured the emergence of candidates of the party for the positions of Senate president and Speaker of the House of Representatives.

It was learnt that Tinubu was particularly angry that Buhari did not make good his promise to address APC legislators at the International Conference Centre on June 9, leading to the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki as Senate president.

Nigerians Must Live With The Consequences Of "CHANGE" - FFK

Anyone that honestly believed that a man who secretly shares the same vision and core principles of Boko Haram and who spent many years defending them can do anything but give them a free hand when he comes to power is living in cuckoo land.

I am not surprised by all the recent bombings and killings. I am not surprised by the resurgence of Boko Haram and their new-found barbarity, courage and zeal. Military checkpoints have been removed from our roads so what do you expect?

Boko Haram suspects are now being kept in prisons in the eastern part of the country in order to ''spread the word'' and no less than 182 Boko Haram suspects were released on the Presidents orders just a few days ago. Is all this just a coincidence or is something that is dark and sinister now afoot in our country?

Yakubu Dogara until the crisis in the National Assembly is resolved by the party.

Fresh tension in APC as Atiku, Tinubu battle for BoT chairmanship

Fresh crisis is brewing in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) over the chairmanship of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT).

It was learnt that a fresh crisis is rearing its head in the party over who will chair the BoT.

The National Executive Committee (APC) meeting held last Friday endorsed the constitution of the party’s BoT. No date was set for that.

An official of the party revealed to Sunday Sun that some chieftains of the party are in the trenches over who heads the yet-to-be-constituted BoT.

According to him, the initial permutation was that former vice president, Atiku Abubakar would chair the advisory body. The move, he said was championed by former Lagos state governor and leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who wanted the former vice president to support his candidates for the National Assembly leadership.

Plot to bar Tinubu from APC NEC meeting thickens

‘Ex-gov, not national leader’

FROM ADETUTU FOLASADE-KOYI, ABUJA

The tension in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) heightened yesterday as there are moves to bar National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu from attending the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) scheduled for today.

The parley was postponed from last Tuesday.

A group of angry leaders, backed by former governors of the party, are set on a collision course with the leadership of the party over Tinubu’s alleged role in the leadership crisis rocking the National Assembly. Daily Sun gathered that some prominent party members are up in arms against top leaders of the party on Tinubu’s status “after the March 28 presidential poll.

A former governor of the party reiterated to Daily Sun yesterday that there would be drama at the venue of the NEC meeting if Tinubu is allowed to enter or participate in deliberations of the party’s highest organ.

NASS leadership: Tinubu, others offered us deals –PDP

Fresh facts have emerged on the horse-trading and trade-off that led to the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki, Ike Ekweremadu and Yakubu Dogara as Senate President, Deputy Senate president and Speaker of the House of Representatives, respectively.

A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee, Olisa Metuh, in an exclusive interview with Daily Sun had alleged that former Lagos State governor and  National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu actually reached out to certain leaders of the PDP to sell his anointed candidates for the positions of Senate President and Speaker, House of Representatives.

The PDP national publicity secretary further disclosed that the camps of Femi Gbajabiamila and Senator Ahmed Lawan promised PDP lawmakers in both the Red and Green Chambers, juicy committees.

Okupe Mocks APC Over Crisis

The Senior Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, on Sunday, mocked the All Progressives Congress over the internal crisis plaguing the ruling party.

Okupe, who was one of the most vocal supporters of Jonathan before the election, had predicted that the APC would not last more than a year because “its foundation is wrong, its combination is faulty and its ideologies are not clearly defined.’’

Less than a month after President Muhammadu Buhari took the oath of office, the APC has been embroiled in a crisis caused by the election of principal officers in the National Assembly.
